Great comments!
It is statistical analysis, and not holy spirit, which determines what topics will be covered in a wt study, which branches will be closed, where to hold international conventions, etc.
we have a bethel speaker on the english side.
they're pretty regular up here since it's only three and a half hours drive from nyc.. but this is a special kind of visit.. it turns out he's involved in doing a special research project and the christian congregation of jw's wants to know us better.. in order for the broadcasting to address issues more meaningful for families, they want to know the demographic make up of the congregations.. he spoke with the secretary about young single publishers and couples 20-35 y.o.
how are they employed.

i like watching all the chicago shows.
chicago med, chicago fire, and chicago pd,.
but this week they showed a jw couple that refused a procedure that was left to the concience of a jw.
today's wt has the below scripture as it's theme.
friday of the rc has the same as it's theme.
the silver nwt is alone in using the word loyalty in this verse.
So some are arguing that the ERV and MSG justify the WT "translation." Let's compare them:
ERV: This is what he wants from you: Be fair to other people. Love kindness and loyalty, and humbly obey your God.
MSG: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously.
NWT: And what is Jehovah requiring of you? Only to exercise justice, to cherish loyalty, and to walk in modesty with your God!
Kindness and compassion are something usually expressed to our peers, our neighbors, our children. These words have disappeared from the NWT!
But loyalty, that's expressed to those superior to us: God, Christ and most importantly, the governing body and congregation elders. If you are at the convention this year, watch how they will stress loyalty to the organization and how they use their new tweaked scripture to do it!

Well, I just looked up that scripture at Biblehub and it uses the word loyalty in the original Hebrew. It said, "And humbly covenant loyalty and to love justly."
That's an interlinear, a word for word translation. It doesn't consider multiple-word phrases or context. That's why no bible translation has used "loyalty" in that scripture. If wt is going base their decision to use "loyalty" on this interlinear, that is the epitome of cherrypicking.
he is just days away from graduation with his bachelor's in english, and today, he has an interview with a recruiter for an agency that help with finding teaching positions in south korea.. i took it upon myself to research the company and his interviewer, and it's been high marks all around on both of them.
so that's a great ease on my mind.i just hope the interview (over the phone) goes well, and results in the next steps to getting a position.my son spent a month in seoul last summer, an loved the place.
he has friends out there as well, including a young man that he attended classes with here in the states, so i think that's a real plus in taking this very giant leap.when i was his age, i was slowly working my way through a two year degree, still living at home, and aspiring to nothing more than a job as a repairman.
Wishing him the best.
Just a tip: have him google "employment contracts in South Korea" so he knows what he's getting into.

Yes, to "love kindness" is absolutely not the same as "cherish loyalty"
It creates a completely different mental picture.
Are we to believe that mankind mistranslated the two things God wants us to do up until watchtower got it right in the year 2013?
if this is true, and we will have to wait and see.
prince could give everything to the watchtower.
so that's his $300 million fortune.
i was talking with a friend of mine who knows a few people in the home department at bethel.
apparently, prince was, as i noted in the title, on the board of directors.
he apparently was sort of a silent partner or advisor in the whole thing.
george cook, omg, george f'ing cook, whattttt!.
caption: elder george cook (right), one of the nine elders of the small 90-person congregation, said prince regularly ‘witnessed’ alone in the community and in groups.
he was very detail oriented and very eccentric.
Hmm, a former DO assigned to a congregation with 8 elders already...
HQ may have arranged for wealthy locals to help him out...
No doubt receiving "gifts of mercy"...
Decides a drug addiction is a "personal matter"...
SPIDER SENSE TINGLING!!!
interesting article i found about prince and the jw religion.
i guess they are trying to get their 15 minutes of fame.
i find it disturbing that the elder stated if prince had an addiction to prescription drugs, that is a personal matter but the hundreds of intrusive jw rules like going to college (not scriptural) and growing a beard (also not scriptural) are not also considered a personal choice.
He refused to have a hip replacement because it required a blood transfusion. More will be revealed with autopsy results but it sounds like he was in a lot of pain. Pills may have seemed to be the lesser of two evils...
